Chris' Birthday

Today was Christina's 50th birthday. All day long, she's gotten phone calls, emails, skypes, and other media messages.

We had her favorite breakfast (eggs over easy) and shrimp scampi with wine for dinner. Chris baked her own birthday cake. This is a German tradition. She baked a manderin orange cheese cake, which is frosted with a merange. Chilling the cake makes the merange "tear", so the cake is called "tear cake." It was yummy!

Tomorrow, we are taking a train to Hamburg where we will meet Chris' daughter, Mindi and her boyfriend Fin. We all have tickets to see "The Lion King" on Saturday night.

We will be in Hamburg 3 days, and, traveling light, I'm not taking my laptop. So this blog will be interrupted for a few days.
