Germany III in 2017
Wednesday, 16 August 2017
This will be my 3rd trip to Germany. I'm traveling there to visit and travel with Christina, who I met 7 years ago on the internet.
The other two trips were wonderful, and I'm sure this one will be too.

Places to Visit
It's nice to be in a foreign country, different foods and customs. It's why we travel and you don't need to do too much to enjoy it. We often make day trips to nearby cities, and then select a couple for overnight visits. This time we're staying in Strasbourg and Hamburg for several days each.
I've marked our travel destinations with big red dots on this map. The green dot shows where Christina's home is, in Eislingen. This is a town on the railroad 50 km ( 30 miles) from Stuttgart. There is no label on the map for Eislingen. (population=30,000)
About this Blog
This is the third vacation on which I've used this blog program, which I wrote. I've revised it each time. ( Blog, by the way, is a contraction of "Web Log.") There are plenty of blog programs out there, but I wanted one that was 1) self contained, and 2) could be viewed and saved as a single group of files. These were the design criteria, which it has nearly achieved. The program does not provide a place for feedback from readers, or so many layers of branches. It's primarily designed for vacation blogging.
Things to know:
1) You can see an enlarged version of any picture or chart by clicking on it. Click again to get back to the blog.
2) If you click on the banner at the top of this page (it says 'Germany 2017'), it will take you to the Table of Contents.
3) Below this banner, there are Previous and Next buttons that move you through the days. These are also at the bottom of the page. They will be more useful when more pages are up.
Contact
You can write me at my email address: jwc2708@bellsouth.net
I will check faithfully every day.
It's hard to overstate how nice it is to hear from folks when I'm away. It's nice to feel your friends. If you have any slight urge to write, drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you!
Also, if I make any obvious writing errors, I can correct them and appreciate feedback there too. Vacationing does not always lead to flawless prose.
